Give me a swipe card. EBT would be tolerable. A good general purpose restaurant. Even Subway.

If I had to get a free unlimited supply of "one food" (assuming I could not share) I'd have to go with free-range chicken.

EBT is nice, although it only covers groceries. Then again, that does include microwavable meals, which are about as close as you can get to fast food from home.

I can certainly understand the choice of free-range chicken. Chicken is good and healthy, so probably something that would be fine to eat every day or nearly every day.

Out of pure curiosity, what would you have chosen assuming you COULD share? And who would you be sharing it with?

Since I can't currently answer this on my own journal without de-emphasizing a more important post, I'm going to answer it here. I may later copy to my journal. I hope you'll forgive the hijacking.

Here goes:

It depends on whether we are talking ideal or realistic.

My ideal would be mercury-free fresh tekka don. It isn't my favorite food, but it is pretty high up there, and it is rather expensive. And mercury is always a concern with tekka don, so a mercury-free source that didn't cost anything would not only vastly improve my diet, but would also likely improve my enjoyment of life. I mean, free pickles or freeze-dried ice cream would be great, but you can only eat so much of those things, and the cost per diem averages out to be quite low. Whereas, free and safe tekka don would be something I could eat daily or near-daily, which would not only taste good but also likely improve my overall health.

Realistically, there is no way to get a guaranteed mercury-free supply of tekka don. Therefore, I'd go with grass-fed steak (or, if I had to be more specific, grass-fed peppercorn filet mignon). Same reasons as above, except with the addition that it is safer than fish. Probably not as healthy, but the addition of regular iron and protein are something that would still benefit me.

Actually, I just changed my mind. I don't want fish or steak. I want kangaroo. An unlimited lifetime supply of kangaroo. Yup. That's it. That's the one for me. :D
