I've been largely silent on the current wave of crises. There's a reason.

Go read this: http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/04032009/transcript1.html

What we have here is a bloc of government officials, regulators, bureaucrats and especially executives and leaders in the financial industry who 1) broke the law rather a lot and very severely, 2) knew it, and 3) are determined never to be held accountable no matter what it does to their people, the country, or the economy of the entire world.

I was taught that we are a nation of laws, not of men. There is really no point in discussion. Either we clean house or we let these idiots run our country further into the ground. This is not a Demopublican thing or a Republicrat thing. This is a "the people have lost control of their government" thing.

Signs of house-cleaning:

- Congressional hearings with subpoena powers used freely and widely
- special prosecutors in roving packs
- state and Federal law enforcement raids
- Senators and Representatives under investigation
- armed officers living in the corporate file rooms to protect the evidence
- executives perp-walked to police vans
- government officials resigning and being stripped of their pensions

Until I see these, we're just going to let them get away with it. With our tax dollars.

I stopped being a crusader some years ago. The longer we wait to clean this up, the worse the storm is going to get when it breaks. If Obama cleans it up, great, that's what we voted him in for. If not, may Goddess have mercy on his soul.

I hope myself that they clean house. It is desperately needed, for "As you sow, so shall you reap." (this I know personally)

What I have been seeing on the news and reading in the news services scares the living daylights out of me.

But I will be prepared if things go south, so to speak.
