I've been asked (read: drafted) to find some contacts for "furry spirituality" and haven't much idea where or who with to start. This would be for FC panels.

I'm in! I would offer the ancient Egyptian religion from both a theological and archetypal perspective, as well as Taoism as a 'cosmic' versus 'supernatural' worldview.

I suggest recruiting at least one therian or otherkin, because otherwise the audience will only be getting my rather dim view of those subjects.

I would probably bring up relativism as well.

How odd! While I fail your (2) criteria (and probably (3)), I was looking through my "deferred topics" folder this morning and came across this, which might make an interesting starting point:

The spiritual heart of Furry is rooted in identifying with one's animal nature and totenism. The economic heart of Furry is rooted in pr0n. These tension between these two make it difficult if not impossible for furry to be unified, or even to have a unifying theme.

I'm not convinced sexuality and spirituality are mutual separate. I think there has been a state of coexistence between them, with only most recently (Within the last 300 or 400 years) a rift trying to divide the two. I put forward as evidence the Heaven line on the abandoned Indian temples, ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, the stories of Ishtar, and The Book of Solomon.

What is more at the core of furries not being unified is the same thing that keeps any group created around a central abstract idea unified, and that is that we are a bunch of people with different educations and experiences coming together because we like or idolize an idea. While we will accept social grounds I am not sure that if it wern't for that one interest, anyone would be associating with others as well.

... Mind you, though, that I think it is a neat topic, and defiantly would be interesting to see a room of people debate it, though. I like the topic, I just don't think it's addressed properly.

You've made a category error.

I didn't say "sexuality." I said "porn." Even the best porn is so categorically different from the lousiest sex that they cannot be put onto a continuum. They do not belong on a continuum.

Not from my experience, however.

First off, my examples fit perfectly well in the Porn Category. Some published editions of the Bible don't even include the Book of Solomon due to it's ranche nature. The heaven lines are WAY more educational in such matters.

In my mind the difference between sexuality and porn is just an action. "I am into girls. I like laytex suits" is sexuality. "I am going to show you I am into 12 foot tall amazonian herms putting me into their womb" is more showing of your sexuality, really. I don't think that that porn is different from sexuality.

(Yes, I realize who I am talking too, and believe me, this intimidates me a little, but I think I can stand behind my belief on this one)
