got a reply on impeachment

Thank you for contacting me about impeaching President Bush and Vice President Cheney.

I've lived through an impeachment process and witnessed firsthand how it tears the country apart. The American people have soundly rejected the President's policies and the policies of his party. I think it's time to bring the country together and move forward. In my view, impeachment will heavily distract from the important work of reversing the disastrous policies of this Administration and will virtually bring to a halt progress being made on important issues including ending the war, healthcare, global warming, and our nation's economic competitiveness.

As you know, the Bush Administration enjoyed nearly unfettered and unchecked power over the federal government under Republican Majorities in both the House and Senate over the last six years. This has changed. In the first two-and-a-half months of the 110th Congress, the House has held more than 100 oversight hearings covering the war in Iraq, the response to Hurricane Katrina, the firing of United States Attorneys, and the treatment of our veterans at Walter Reed. The House continues to hold oversight hearings and to adopt important legislation from a budget plan that will balance the books within five years, addressing hate crimes and funding stem cell research.

If you have any other questions or comments, let me hear from you. I always appreciate hearing from my constituents and ask that you continue to inform me on issues you care about. I need your thoughts and benefit from your ideas. If you'd like to receive information on other issues, I've created an e-newsletter to keep constituents informed on a variety of topics. If you'd like to receive it, go to my website at http://REDACTED.house.gov and click on "E-Mail Sign-Up."

Sincerely,

. . . for whom I shall never, ever vote again.

I was unaware that any progress was being made on ending the Iraq War, healthcare, global warming and our nation's economic competitiveness.

I disagree that these issues are as profound as preserving the checks and balances that keep American from sliding into dictatorship or worse.

I am sorry, but you have lost my vote and my respect.

and now we have all lived though and witnessed firsthand how *lack of* an impeachment tears the country apart . . .

The reply you got sounds just like a f***in' politician.
I suppose, just like some criminal sonofabitch who's afraid that if he does the right thing by insisting that Bush and Cheney should be prosecuted for their crimes, that someone might later come after him...
Sometime later (offline), I suppose I'll want to ask you which ignorant piece of crap this was.
