There is something worse than being operational.
Being operational, having the operation cancelled after all the prep work, taking a half-day off to recover, and suddenly being paged out to respond to a non-emergency. The kind caused by poor prior planning and bad scheduling.
Five minutes after arrival, the non-emergency becomes An Incident.
Great . . . I am at FurCon, with a badge and everything, and look forward to seeing people I know and renewing acquaintances . . . and meeting new people . . . and being social.
Sleep is optional. Fun is mandatory, if I am to avoid the Armored Vehicles aisle at WalMart.
